You Were Supposed to Be My Wife [Ancient Soul, Modern World]

When washed-up actress Xue Qingyan prayed for blessings in the new year, a fortune-teller predicted she would meet a golden peach blossom this year, a destined husband star entering her life, and told her she had to seize the opportunity.

She was beautiful, sure, but Xue Qingyan had always been lonely and had long since gotten used to it. She laughed it off. "I came to pray for career luck. Didn't you see me kneeling at the God of Wealth's shrine? You can keep the romance. I'm afraid I'm allergic to pollen."

As it happens, that very day, on her way home, she was stopped by a woman dressed strangely but strikingly beautiful, with a strong classical air and presence. The woman asked, "Why are you here? And why are you dressed like that?"

Xue Qingyan's mouth twitched. Is this some performance artist who just popped out of nowhere? Though deeply shaken, she managed to remain polite. "May I ask who you are?"

The woman's voice was as cool and otherworldly as her appearance. "You don't recognize me? You were supposed to be my wife."
