Wen Yue Bai transmigrates to the interstellar era and comes to understand one rule of survival: the fate of a rare mermaid Omega is far too grim. They're likely to be captured and dissected for research, with no chance of escape.
To make it safely through military academy, he decisively seals away his ancient battle bloodline. He disguises himself as an utterly ordinary Beta with no talent, keeping a low profile in class and slacking off during training. His only goal is to seem harmless and make it to graduation.
Who could have guessed he'd end up partnered with Lu Linzhou, the strongest student in the entire academy?
Lu Linzhou is the undisputed top Alpha at the military academy. Cold and taciturn, he has a naturally volatile mental domain that can easily spiral out of control. The whole school avoids him, and everyone advises Wen Yue Bai to stay away.
Wen Yue Bai tries to keep his distance, but fate won't let him.
When Lu Linzhou's mecha overloads and his mind teeters on the brink of a breakdown, only Wen Yue Bai's presence can calm his surging aggression.
When the mecha's core program crashes and the instructors are helpless, Wen Yue Bai fixes it with a few casual keystrokes.
During a desperate showdown in outdoor training, he calmly lays out a strategy and fights Lu Linzhou to a draw.
The more Lu Linzhou watches, the more suspicious he becomes: Is his Beta partner... somehow... a little too invincible? He begins keeping an eye on Wen Yue Bai at all times, forcing them to train together and sticking by him during study sessions. Anyone who dares look down on Wen Yue Bai gets put firmly in their place.
The entire school is baffled: Why does the top ace cling to an ordinary Beta every day?
Then, during an interstellar field exercise, they are ambushed by alien beasts. Their mechas are damaged, and Lu Linzhou is gravely wounded, his mind spiraling out of control. To protect his partner, Wen Yue Bai completely breaks the seal on his bloodline. His snowy-white tail unfurls, and a vast wave of mental pressure sweeps across the battlefield.
The whole field falls silent for an instant, then erupts in an uproar.
Who could have guessed that this gentle, low-key Beta was an extinct-for-ten-thousand-years battle mermaid Omega with the strongest combat ability?
Lu Linzhou is quiet for a moment, secretly overjoyed.
The top-tier partner he'd kept hidden for so long turns out to be a mermaid Omega who belongs to him alone.
