Because she had to return to her registered hometown to take the college entrance exam, Li Zhi moved in with Shen Qiyan during the second semester of her second year of high school.
It was already evening when Li Zhi arrived at the Shen family home. After tidying up her room, she went downstairs to cook noodles without disturbing anyone.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang. A handsome boy in a red basketball jersey came in, holding a basketball. His arms were well-defined, with taut muscles. Their eyes met in the dim light.
The boy was nearly 1.9 meters tall. His bright dark eyes curved as he asked, curious yet uncertain, "I feel like I've seen you somewhere before."
"Who are you? What are you doing in my house?"

At university, Li Zhi and Shen Qiyan rented an apartment off campus.
Water pattered onto the bathroom floor. Before long, Li Zhi, wearing a light nightdress, stood barefoot on the non-slip mat. Her voice was quiet, but loud enough for Shen Qiyan to hear.
"Shen Qiyan, come carry me back."
Nestled in Shen Qiyan's arms, Li Zhi wrapped both hands around his neck. "Shen Qiyan, kiss me."
Shen Qiyan set her down on the bed, braced himself with one hand, then bent to kiss her.
The moment their lips met, Shen Qiyan had only one thought.
"Li Zhi, I give up."
