In the deep folds of the Cangling Mountains in the northwest, Qingshigou Village is like a rag forgotten by the times.
Zhao Dajiang was born here. As the eldest son in the family, he was used to exchanging books for steamed buns and converting tuition fees into rations for his younger siblings. When the flood of fate hit this already devastated family of ten, he was the one who silently shouldered all the burdens and bent his back.
This is a story about survival and separation. There is no golden finger to counterattack, only the rough breathing after being repeatedly beaten by life. In the cycle of loess, sand and hunger, how can they find the way to tomorrow?
Purpose: To reveal the struggle of marginalized groups at the bottom to survive in structural poverty, as well as the forbearance and vitality shown by ordinary people in desperate situations.
