"Being Negative" is a black humor novel set in the workplace. It tells a story about "how normal people survive in an absurd environment."
The protagonist Ye Fan has worked in the company for ten years and has changed from a high-spirited young man to a tired middle-aged man. He was assigned to form a team with two "wonders in the workplace" - one was the "Fengxiao" Liu Yi who was always flustered and confused, and the other was the newly transferred deputy minister "Wolong" Wang Bahuang who felt good about himself but had worrying abilities. In this department, those who work hard will not get much, and those who work little will not get much. Those who make mistakes will always have someone to tell them about it, and those who work will always wash the dishes for others.
The novel unfolds from a first-person perspective, and through a series of absurd work routines - publishing, filming, being on duty, and holding meetings - it shows the communication difficulties, shirk of responsibility and collective absurdity in the workplace. Ye Fan oscillated between endurance and resistance, trying to find a way out of the situation, but found that a "happy day" was always elusive. When department reform brought a glimmer of hope, his new post-00s colleague Li Qianqi opened his eyes to another possibility.
This is a workplace record that will make you laugh and then fall silent. It is also a mirror that every working man can see himself in.
Purpose: This is not a book that teaches you how to survive in the workplace, but a mirror that allows every worker to see his or her own reflection - reflecting the daily life that makes people laugh or cry, but also reflecting your original intention of not being willing to sink completely.
