In the final years of the Southern Dynasty, the new emperor was still a child, and the imperial in-laws held power. The realm descended into chaos, and the people suffered. The various warlords carved out territories for themselves, all vying for the highest seat in the land.
A commoner rose from Qingfeng Stronghold, overcoming every obstacle along the way. He established the Xiao army and made a name for himself in these troubled times. At a critical moment, as the various powers circled one another, he proposed to a daughter of the Ye family of Qingzhou.
The official excuse was: “May our two families be on good terms and our alliance last forever!”
Xiao Jingheng married the Ye family’s daughter intending for her to be nothing more than a decoration in his household. Who could have guessed she would be so willful?
She clung to him every day, sticking to him and refusing to let go.
Whenever he gave her the cold shoulder, this pampered jewel of the Ye family would look at him with a smile and say:
“Jingheng, Jingheng, don’t be angry.”
“Baozhu will give you some date pastries, all right?”
[Marriage first, love later | Made for each other | A touch of forced romance]
[Innocent, cheerful heroine VS supremely calculating hero] Both are inexperienced and each other’s first love.
Content warnings:
There is a bit of a wife-winning-back plot, but Baozhu doesn’t notice.
Baozhu is a little silly, with a simple, kindhearted air, though she understands everything.
The heroine grows over time.
Xiao Jingheng is a typical invincible hero from an ancient setting: cold-blooded and arrogant.
Is he a villain rather than a gentleman?
The political intrigue is limited.
I know little about ancient customs, so I’ve made a lot of it up.
(There are lots of potential triggers, so don’t read if that’s not for you!)
Theme: Love is a wondrous thing
What are these two chapters about? Doesn't it say in the introduction that there are very few plot lines? The main space is not on the heroine, nor on the hero.
I'm so angry. I looked at Lonely again [rolls eyes][rolls eyes] and I'm almost out of patience.
What are these chapters for, and how will the main plot be advanced?
Didn't you say you were going to add a chapter before? Didn't see it
The male and female protagonists get along very cutely, but the plot is very bland
I don't know what I'm writing, I can't stand it anymore
When can we fall in love sweetly? It's already halfway through and there's still no love part.
Doesn't it mean that the first two leave requests will be made up??
Who? Is it Bao Zhu's family?
What is this all about? Can we just write about love? If the male protagonist is so cruel politically, he won't be soft-hearted towards his sister. It's a bit incoherent.
