After being reborn, Bai Ling's first priority was to pay off her old debts and revive the bodyguard agency.

In her previous life, she'd been sold off to pay her debts and ultimately died a miserable death. That tragedy must never happen again!

Fortune favors the bold, so she accepted a major job.

She didn't expect the goods to be stolen, leaving her in debt again.

Even worse, the goods belonged to the ninth prince, Xie Linyuan, and she'd signed a contract pledging her life for the job.

Xie Linyuan: "Since you're trying so hard to repay your debt, why not pay it with yourself?"

"Become my ninth princess consort."

Later, Bai Ling married her creditor, His Highness.

She had thought the prince suffered from a hidden ailment and was marrying her only as a cover.

She did her best to play the role of his ninth princess consort, giving her "performance" a perfect score.

"Husband, I can't finish breakfast alone. Why don't we eat together?"

"Husband, you're going to be away on business for so many days. Why don't I come with you? Otherwise, I'll miss you."

Wait a minute, why were the stolen goods that no one could find in Xie Linyuan's hands?

Bai Ling was furious. She tossed the ninth princess consort's token back at him.

"Liar! I want to break off the engagement!"

That night, the usually laid-back and composed Ninth Prince rode through the storm in hot pursuit.

He clutched her wrist, his voice trembling. "Don't go, my wife... Don't leave me."

Bai Ling gave him a distant look. "Your Highness, I don't owe you anything anymore."

A painting was kept in Xie Linyuan's study.

Late at night, when no one was watching, he would gently wipe it clean. It showed a ten-year-old girl dressed as a bodyguard, a bow and arrows on her back, white feathers fluttering.

Love at first sight. Then, at their next meeting... he finally found his chance.

This woman loved money, and he meant to spend every coin he had where it counted.

Like winning her back.
