Childhood sweethearts separated by a misunderstanding for four years. On the day they reunited, an accident sent them into an ancient romance novel, where they became cannon fodder characters.
After they transmigrate into a book, they must follow the main plot and complete their mission to return to reality. The male and female leads complain about the clichéd plot from the side characters’ point of view. They keep getting killed off in the novel. Although the male lead loves teasing the female lead, he secretly protects her every time.
The female lead witnesses minor characters in the book risking their lives to protect their home. Even as cannon fodder, they are willing to burn with the last of their light. Even insignificant side characters can have great strength! Deeply moved, she fights alongside the male lead for their beliefs and their home.
After the great battle ends, the female lead completes her mission and successfully returns to reality with the male lead. The misunderstanding from four years ago is finally cleared up, and their mutual secret love gets a happy ending.
