The protagonist's remnant soul accidentally possesses a woman sent to the Demon Palace as a hostage. The two conspire and make their escape amid the chaos.
The woman heads to the human realm, while the remnant soul goes to the netherworld to be reborn.
With the help of the Ghost King, the remnant soul is successfully reborn as a divine beast, a qilin.
Unbeknownst to them, above the heavens, a player toys with a black piece and quietly watches it all.
Will they be captured pieces, or players who move the pieces themselves?
The game is underway. Take your seat.
Author's note:
Three male leads, two tops and one bottom.
Xie Wunian is a male lead! (Jinjiang only lets me list two male leads, so I can only put him down as a supporting character.)
Taotie x Qilin: An imperial tyrant and a loyal general
Xie Wunian x Qilin: A cold, aloof master and a well-behaved disciple
The story starts from a female side character's perspective. She is not the protagonist! Please steer clear if that's an issue.
There are too many supporting characters to include them all, so I've only listed a few. Please understand.
