Every comic character has a background character, and every world needs its background characters.
But as the fanfiction prize pool kept growing, the backgrounds of all the key characters gradually became more and more colorful.
And so!
With both parents alive and a stable love life across countless works, always either working or on a date, Date Wataru became the chosen one!
Ta-da-da-daa!
Master Painter Date, you're up!
Date Wataru, forced to take on a second job: Does anyone care that I was supposed to die of overwork because I didn't have time to dodge a truck?!
Indignant, he picked up his brush and began painting away at life without stopping.
Bourbon, who kept breaking into sinister cackles out of nowhere, painted red.
Scotland, the gloomy, taciturn version who acted like he was about to die at any moment, painted red.
Malt, who blew up the entire road with an enormous bomb whenever he saw injustice, painted red.
Tennessee, who got bewitched by a gorgeous face and tried to take him by force... No, Hagiwara, why is your whole vibe so different from everyone else's?! Paint him red, paint him red!
Rye, who killed everyone without a second thought, painted red...
Wait, does he have to paint the FBI too?
Date Wataru, sporting heavy dark circles, let out a deep sigh. Another day without a date with Natalie.
