[Football] Milan Finally Has a Center Forward

A note before you begin: This is an everyday story about a “person” trying to be “ordinary” and playing football. If you’re looking for a simulator-style story, a System-buff story, or a super satisfying face-slapping romp, you can click the ❌ and move on. This isn’t that kind of novel.

Here’s the less serious blurb:

Rael Maldini: “Football? It’s a very interesting sport. I’ve received so much love thanks to football, so it’s only natural that I return the favor by winning a few trophies, right?”

Reporter: ...You call those a few trophies?

Freiheit Hoffman: “I won’t transfer. If I can’t stand behind Rael and pass the ball to him, I’d rather leave the pitch.”

Reporter: Other people are obsessed with their clubs. You’re obsessed with your striker, huh?

A story about a pair of lovers on the front line: an amber-eyed, long-haired, black-haired, towering center forward (actually a long-lived nonhuman, but he thinks he’s human; his cheat from the start gets banned, so he’s playing Human Online) ✖️ a taciturn, blue-eyed, blond midfielder (the two will share their lifespans after forming a soul bond. Don’t laugh at my old-fashioned setup).

The top’s perspective: He lived alone in the Hunter world until his teens, then accidentally awakened the ability to travel between worlds and ended up here. He discovers it’s an “ordinary” world, takes on a human guise, and is accidentally brought home by Cesare when he’s two. A story about growing up again and becoming an ordinary person?

The bottom’s perspective: Perhaps every bird that flies alone will eventually find its own tree. So it’s only natural that the golden eagle ends up with his tree.

1. Strong warning! This novel is unfriendly toward Inter Milan and South Korea. Don’t read if that bothers you!

It’s also unfriendly toward Messi and Ronaldo. In 2010, New Milan signs Lewandowski. With someone to coach him and Milan behind him, he’ll hit his peak sooner and win at least two Ballon d’Or awards earlier. If someone gets more, someone else gets less. Don’t read if that bothers you!

2. The author has never been abroad or dated a foreigner, and is writing based on personal imagination. There may be errors in basic facts.

3. The male lead and second male lead aren’t good people in the conventional sense, and they’re not perfect.

4. Some matches are won and some are lost, and life has its ups and downs. This isn’t a typical wish-fulfillment novel.

5. There’s a lot of match content. I think football is something every football guy has to experience, so I don’t recommend this novel to anyone who doesn’t like reading about matches, even though I’m not very good at writing them.

The story spans a very long time and is told as a chronological account. I plan to write from youth training all the way through the end of the 2026 World Cup (What?), and I’m making a grand promise.

6. The author is more of a player fan than a team fan. My favorite national teams are Italy and Spain.

7. This is a parallel-world story with lots of butterfly effects. In the future, the protagonist will start a company, make a lot of money, and buy Milan. The Istanbul butterfly effect means Ambrosini and Pirlo will retire at Milan.

8. New Milan will sign a lot of real-life players I like who play for other teams. Don’t read if that bothers you.

9. It’s a slight ensemble story. The couple at the center, Rael and Freiheit, are gay. The supporting cast includes men and women. I respect the real-life partners of the real players in the story, and most of them will keep their canonical pairings. I’ll specifically mention it if I change anyone. Don’t read if you can’t accept heterosexual relationships in a danmei novel.

10. The author is illiterate. If I’ve researched something but still gotten it wrong or left a plot hole, feel free to correct me and share your knowledge.
