Soapy melodrama / love rivals / messy love triangle / groveling redemption arc
Free-spirited, resilient, alluring bottom x possessive, powerful top
“Yes, I really like him.”
The first time Zhou Chongsu heard the name Chi Yu was from a friend.
Watching his friend, who had always been a player and never bowed his head or stopped for anyone, willingly settle down for one person struck Zhou Chongsu as absurd. He scoffed.
As the heir to Chengguang Group, he was used to weighing the pros and cons. He had never believed in passionate romance, much less thought he'd fall into its grip.
That was, until he saw Chi Yu with his own eyes. The man leaned against the doorway, a cigarette between his lips, smiling with uninhibited abandon...
So Zhou Chongsu stole his friend's love interest. He used every means at his disposal, threats and temptations alike, to keep Chi Yu by his side and force him to sheathe his claws and hide his sharp edges.
Later, Chi Yu stopped resisting. He would curl up in the living room waiting for Zhou Chongsu when he worked late, and take care of him when he came home drunk from business dinners.
Zhou Chongsu kissed Chi Yu, satisfied. He even thought that spending the rest of their lives together wouldn't be so bad.
Then disaster struck. His enemies kidnapped both Zhou Chongsu and the man who had almost fallen in love with Chi Yu.
Their captors set the rules: Two men. Choose one. The other dies!
Zhou Chongsu stared at Chi Yu, a faint, unspoken hope stirring in his heart.
But Chi Yu didn't hesitate for a moment. His gaze swept over Zhou Chongsu, battered and humiliated, then he turned resolutely and chose the other man, leaving with him to live happily ever after.
Zhou Chongsu was left alone in the deathly silent room.
So all that obedience, thoughtfulness, even love, had been fake!
Overwhelming resentment and the humiliation of being played washed through Zhou Chongsu. His eyes turned bloodshot, and the veins on his temples bulged.
“Liar...” Zhou Chongsu muttered through clenched teeth, his eyes filled with madness and menace. “Don't let me catch you.”
Later, Chi Yu settled in a small southern city, where life was peaceful and ordinary. One evening, he returned from the market with his lover, chatting and laughing as they planned to celebrate that night.
“Try my hand...” Chi Yu began as he opened the door, then his voice cut off.
The living room was dark, dim with dusk. Someone sat on the sofa, Zhou Chongsu's legs crossed, a glowing red ember flickering between his fingers.
Chi Yu's smile froze. Behind him, his lover leaned around to ask, “What's wrong?”
Pale smoke slipped from Zhou Chongsu's lips. His gaze swept over the other man, then lingered on their intimate stance as jealousy burned in his heart.
Yet his expression remained perfectly calm. He spoke with a hint of a smile, but his words sent a chill through the room.
“Long time no see, Chi Yu.”
[Reader's guide and content warnings]
1. Happy ending. There will be a groveling redemption arc, don't worry ^_^ Six-year age gap.
2. Neither of them had their first kiss with the other, but both are sexually inexperienced. Zhou Chongsu is the top.
3. [The top will fall hard. He puts on an act at first, then falls in love and gets exposed for who he really is. The fallout is oh so satisfying!]
The blurb and main story use different points of view. The blurb is from the top's perspective, while the main story is told from the bottom's.

Gentle, beautiful bottom x deep, dark, powerful top
Yun Cangyu had loved Zhou Ji for six years. They were childhood friends who had grown up together. But Yun Cangyu could only hide his feelings, because of society's expectations and because he was a... monster.
When Zhou Ji couldn't see, Yun Cangyu would gaze at him with burning affection. But the moment he looked away, he would meet another pair of eyes, as still as an ancient well.
Zhou Hengzai stood a few steps away. No one knew how long he had been watching. His expression was calm, yet he seemed to see through everything.
Yun Cangyu shuddered inwardly. He felt as though he had been cut open, all his secrets laid bare. He pretended nothing was wrong and quickly looked away.
Zhou Hengzai was Zhou Ji's older brother, the future head of the Zhou family. He was calculating, ruthless, and unscrupulous.
When Yun Cangyu was a child, he once saw Zhou Hengzai coldly slit open a rabbit. From then on, he hated and feared him. He took detours to avoid him, refused to speak to him, and kept as far away from him as possible.
Then something happened to Yun Cangyu's family, and with nowhere else to turn, the first person he thought of was Zhou Ji. But when he called, Zhou Ji didn't answer.
The voice on the other end was Zhou Hengzai's, calm and cold: “He's gone abroad.”
Yun Cangyu clutched his phone, his face deathly pale. His family couldn't wait...
With no other choice, Yun Cangyu gritted his teeth and knocked on Zhou Hengzai's door.
The man sat in the dark, smoking. Through the swirling haze, his eyes narrowed like a beast waiting for its prey to walk straight into its trap. “Have you made up your mind?”
Yun Cangyu lowered his eyes. “...Yes.”
There was nothing Zhou Hengzai couldn't get. He had wealth, status, and power in abundance.
When he wanted something, he lived by the rule: if they won't give it to him, he'll take it; if he can't take it, he'll destroy it. Yun Cangyu was no exception.
On their wedding night, Zhou Hengzai discovered Yun Cangyu's secret. Dark currents roiled in his eyes, and he wanted nothing more than to devour him whole.
Afterward, Zhou Hengzai held the utterly spent Yun Cangyu, satisfied. He brushed aside his damp hair and stroked the marks he had left behind.
As for Yun Cangyu's other secrets, he would let them stay buried forever.
Zhou Hengzai tightened his arms, as though he meant to merge Yun Cangyu into his very bones, never to let him go!
Later, Zhou Ji returned to the country...

Personally, I feel that Koike's character development was a bit rushed. I feel that his charm can be reflected in more aspects. For example, the proportion of work and life should be higher, not just in being liked by others, because he is also a relatively tough person, and his appearance should be the smallest advantage. (It may be that there are too few updates, so I feel this way, so I suggest the author to update 100,000 words a day.) If you don't like the above personal opinions, please don't criticize them. I am just posting my thoughts after reading. There is no other meaning other than reminders [A dog's head holds a rose] [A dog's head holds a rose]
