The Mommy Man Is a Thousand-Year-Old Jiangshi

Li Yuan was born under a curse: she brings misfortune to her blood relatives, and two of her ex-boyfriends got into car accidents. She was destined to become a single, unmarried medium, growing old in solitude with her master. Nine out of ten supernatural incidents are fake. Li Yuan performs rituals to comfort her clients and get by. When she finally comes across a real case, she goes to a village to exorcise an evil spirit. She drives the spirit away and even finds a handsome man to work as her assistant, but the source of the possession has disappeared. The handsome man sees ghosts every day. Scriptures tattooed on his body ward them off, and he begs Li Yuan, looking utterly pitiful, to take him in. But she accidentally takes him home for good. At home, he makes breakfast, shops and cooks, does the housework, and washes the clothes for master and apprentice. He never leaves a chore undone. At work, he keeps his master’s incense and candle shop running like clockwork and proves himself a reliable assistant. Apart from being hard and cold to the touch, he has no flaws. Li Yuan thinks that if things go on like this, she’ll bring misfortune to another boyfriend, so she decides to break up with him. The handsome man puts down the underwear he was hanging out to dry. His alluring face turns ominous. “My lady, what have I done wrong?” Later, at an altar stained with blood, he nervously kisses her shoes. “My lady, I’ve waited for over a thousand years. You’ve finally returned.” A hard-luck medium who is an evil god × a stiff, cold zombie who is a priest Theme: Sweetness comes after hardship
