Redemption, two female leads, school life, both are each other's first
When Jiang Xi was young, her alcoholic, abusive father broke her right leg, leaving her with a permanent limp.
Her mother couldn't endure the abuse and ran away, leaving Jiang Xi behind.
Her father did nothing but beat and berate her, and Jiang Xi was always covered in bruises.
Later, her father drank himself to death. Jiang Xi thought life might finally get easier, only to discover that he had secretly gambled and racked up a mountain of debt.
Jiang Xi was so poor she could barely afford everyday necessities, let alone pay off her father's debts.
The creditors weren't satisfied. They often cornered Jiang Xi and demanded repayment. When she had no money, they beat her.
Fortunately, the school offered financial aid, so Jiang Xi didn't have to worry about going hungry.
In the second semester of her sophomore year, Shen Xi transferred from another school to the one Jiang Xi attended.
By chance, she ended up in Jiang Xi's class.
The seat beside Jiang Xi was empty. Shen Xi pointed to it and said she wanted to sit next to her.
And so their story began.
