In the midsummer afternoon, there are occasional cicadas chirping.
Xie Shile stood under the shade of a tree, giving live violin lessons because of a bet that had nothing to do with him.
Pei Hui sat aside, his heartbeat following the strings being plucked by Xie Shile.
Later he realized that he had already fallen in love with Xie Shile at first sight.
After years of separation, Pei Hui met Xie Shile again. The once brilliant dancer was trapped in a wheelchair.

Pei Hui stood at the door, wondering whether he should take a step or not.
Xie Shile didn't understand why the delivery worker didn't say a word. After a brief silence, he said, "Just put it here."
Controlling the wheelchair to move backwards, Xie Shile gave up his position and motioned for the "delivery worker" to come in.
Pei Hui's heart ached, as if he was also being broken into pieces.
Two days later, Xie Shile was introduced to a new caregiver by an elder.
