A Fairytale Immortal Journey

Her path to immortality is a tapestry of flowers; his love runs deep and still.

Chen Sijin stood atop the Heart-Questioning Cliff, her robes fluttering like a crane's wings.

Clouds churned below, and behind her lay the snow that had never melted in a thousand years on the Wanjian Sect's mountain.

She had formed her Golden Core at a hundred, with a clear sword heart. Everyone said her immortal path was destined to be glorious.

But she always remembered that dawn, on the training ground before the morning dew had dried.

A boy swung through the most basic sword forms again and again, the blood from his split palm staining the hilt red.

“Qin Xiuyuan,” she said his name for the first time. “Why are you pushing yourself so hard?”

The boy wiped the sweat from his face, the rising sun reflected in his eyes.

“Because I want to see the road Senior Sister has walked, too.”

The year the Demonic Abyss erupted, she guarded the formation's core with her sword for three days and nights.

When her spiritual energy was nearly spent, someone suddenly clasped her trembling hand.

Qin Xiuyuan was covered in blood, and his sword was broken in two.

“Senior Sister.” He pressed the last talisman into her palm. “This time, let me protect you.”

Later, the cultivation world spread the story:

A stubborn sword cultivator was always waiting outside Elder Chen of the Wanjian Sect's residence.

From spring to winter, from Foundation Establishment to Nascent Soul.

Like a traveler chasing the light, or a pine tree standing guard beneath the moon.

“An immortal path woven with splendor...” She brushed her fingers over the names standing side by side on her life plaque.

Behind her, someone gently tucked a newly blossomed peach flower into her hair.

She walked her splendid immortal path, and he cut through the brambles at her side.
