No one knew.
The transfer student at Rikkai University, who was always walking in the shadows,
was a pure-blood vampire who had lived for eighty years.
All he wanted was to hide somewhere with plenty of cloudy days.
No friends, no sun, and never more than three years in the same city.
But on his very first day at the school,
he was seen through by the tennis club captain, Yukimura Seiichi.
Theme:
A vampire forgotten by the whole world,
in one person's eyes,
was simply someone he wanted to keep.
On the night of the full moon,
he curled up in the bushes, fangs bared and eyes blood-red.
With the last shred of his reason, he whispered, “...Run.”
Yukimura didn't leave.
He crouched in front of him and wrapped a handkerchief around his bleeding wrist.
Then
He heard the vampire's inner thoughts:
“I really want to keep him.”
From then on, Kiriya Yoru was forced into a life of involuntary pampering.
By day, he was fed
there was always a shelf of medical blood plasma in the lounge fridge,
and a thermos always held warm cocoa-flavored specialty blood.
By night, he was taken in
the person who “just happened” to walk him home
had somehow moved to the next street over.
The tennis club members noticed that their captain's gaze kept drifting toward the edge of the court.
Yanagi Renji wrote in his notebook: “Safety level: under observation.”
Niou leaned in. “Do you have some kind of superpower? Tell me.”
Kirihara shouted outright, “Kiriya-senpai is an angel!”
Only Yukimura smiled, and where no one else could see,
he gently rested a hand on the back of the vampire's neck.
Later, someone asked Kiriya Yoru:
What was it like to be “kept” by Yukimura Seiichi?
He lowered his eyes to his hand, clasped in Yukimura's,
and fell silent for a long time.
“...It's the first time I've thought being alive is pretty nice.”
[Bonus Scene]
One day, Kiriya Yoru finally lost patience and bared his fangs.
“I'm a vampire. Show some respect.”
Yukimura smiled and offered him some warmed blood plasma.
“I know. Cocoa or vanilla today?”
Kiriya Yoru: “...”
Yukimura: “You don't want that? Then how about me?”
Kiriya Yoru fled in a panic.
Yukimura chuckled behind him, his eyes filled with deep possessiveness.
Run if you want.
I've already tamed you.

Very beautiful writing and very informative. I almost missed the previous chapter (the name of this novel is a bit...)
