Wei Jixing has always been a model student who follows the rules. Then, the first time he steps out of line, he goes big.
He falls in love with his best friend, Wen Tianxiao.
Wen Tianxiao comes from a wealthy family, has a face born to attract admirers, and, most importantly, is a straight guy.
Knowing he has no chance, Wei Jixing resolves to bury his hopeless feelings deep inside and keep them under wraps without letting a single hint slip.
Then he discovers he's been cursed: whenever he talks to the person he likes, he can only say the opposite of what he means. Every attempt to draw a clear line comes out as flirtation.

Then the exams end. He doesn't hear the words "I love you." Instead, he learns that Wei Jixing has quietly applied to a university thousands of miles away, and receives a screenshot of his application choices scattered across the country.
