She Who Loves Life

Ye Haitang heard that Zhao Dun had married her on a bet. She pretended not to know, graciously went along with it, and let him have his way in everything.

Just as their feelings were growing stronger, she asked for a divorce.

It poured with rain on the day of the divorce.

She packed only one suitcase, got into her secondhand car, and drove away.

Zhao Dun didn't notice until that night. In their marital home, she had left behind all the jewelry and handbags he'd bought for her.

He called her, but the number was no longer in service.

He never found her again.

It was as if he'd been swindled, though in truth, he hadn't lost a thing.
