Story blurb:
[Sinister, mad-dog minister uncle x beautiful, scheming fake sister-in-law]
Wen Wu took the place of the Su family's legitimate daughter and married into the Marquis of Xuanping's household to bring good fortune.
She coaxed her sickly husband, Xie Chengyan, into falling for her, hoping to use the marquis household's power to get revenge. She called him "Husband" in a voice full of tenderness.
Xie Linchuan watched her for a long time.
He watched her grind ink and make medicine for her brother-in-law. He watched her smile coyly at other people, only to lower her eyes and tense up whenever she saw him.
Later, Zhou Yunyao drugged Xie Linchuan's wine with an aphrodisiac.
He had noticed, but said nothing.
That night, someone burst into the west wing.
The people in the bed were Xie Chengyan and Zhou Yunyao. The marquis household's guests gathered outside the door, and the pair's reputations were ruined overnight.
Standing amid the utter mess, Xie Linchuan watched Wen Wu being helped away and gently rubbed the jade thumb ring in his hand.
Sister-in-law.
Now that my brother is tainted, surely you'll look at me at last.
In the Xie ancestral hall, the elders were furious.
"Though the Su girl has been divorced, she was once your sister-in-law. You took your brother's cast-off wife as your concubine. Have you no regard for the marquis household's dignity?"
Xie Linchuan wore a crimson official robe, his hand resting on his embroidered spring saber, his expression indifferent.
"My elder brother could take my fiancée. Why can't I take his wife as my concubine?"
The hall fell abruptly silent.
An elder of the clan trembled with anger. "Even if she enters your residence, she can only be a nameless concubine. She cannot be entered in the family register or meet guests. You must tell everyone that she was attacked by bandits on the road, fell off a cliff, and died."
From that day on, the Marquis of Xuanping's eldest daughter-in-law, Su Baoyin, ceased to exist.
The woman who survived could only hide in Xie Linchuan's private residence, relying on his power and living as a concubine who would never see the light of day.
Xie Linchuan lowered his lashes, concealing the dark turmoil in his eyes.
"Fine."
He had never wanted her name in the family register.
He wanted her to become his wife.
[Reading Guide]
The romance begins only after the family relationship has been severed.
The male lead schemes to take his sister-in-law and forces her into a relationship. He has little sense of morality, but he never holds back when it comes to loving the heroine.
Early on, he uses his power and threatens the heroine with her ex-husband's life. Later, he humbles himself to beg for her love and even imitates her ex-husband's green tea act.
Neither lead is perfect. They both have flaws shaped by their pasts, and each has a path of growth to follow.
Theme: Even if you come from humble beginnings, live with clarity and strength.
In fact, although this book is about forced love, it is not a strong man and a weak woman in the traditional sense. The heroine is really good. However, I feel that the characters of the three men are a bit thin, but it would still be interesting if written out. The ending was a bit rushed or the pace was a bit too fast in the first half and it felt like the plot was not developed. The author's sharp and fast-paced writing style is very good and not sloppy. I hope the author's works will get better and better
I really like this heroine who dares to love and hate, and does things swiftly and ruthlessly. She is not a spoiled wife [loving eyes]. I fell in love with her before the hero
Xie Chengyan and Zhou Yunyao are quite compatible, but they both want both.
[Catou][Catou] Spread flowers to the author~
I'm curious if there are any extras or if lines in this book?
How many thousand words does this book have in total?
Now the relationship has just eased a lot, and I am very worried that the relationship between the two of them will drop to a freezing point after the male protagonist finds out that the female protagonist aborted the child. I hope the male protagonist can understand the difficulties of the female protagonist aborting the child.
What is the age difference between the male and female protagonists? Did you mention it before?
