Adversarial Couple in the Seventies

Song Ning'an never expected that simply getting a divorce would lead to her waking up as a village girl in the 1970s.

Everywhere in the village, slogans urged people to head to the countryside and build a new rural society. Song Ning'an looked down at the blood blisters she'd just rubbed onto her hands and nearly cried.

She had to work in the fields every day to earn work points. Supplies were scarce, and she could go ten days or half a month without a decent meal. Miss Song had never suffered like this in her life. Maybe she should find herself a meal ticket?

She heard a new educated youth had arrived at the collective's residence. He came from a prominent Beijing family and had only gone to the countryside after a falling-out with his family. Most importantly, packages arrived from Beijing every few days, full of dried meat, ration coupons, malted milk, and all sorts of other goodies. Song Ning'an was tempted. What a perfect meal ticket!

One day, Song Ning'an specially put on a borrowed dress, let down her long hair, and set out to arrange a chance encounter. Then she got a good look at this supposedly well-connected young man.

Wait, why does this guy look exactly like her ex-husband?

The people of Hongqi Brigade discovered that the girl from the Song family was going to marry the new educated youth!

Everyone figured the pretty boy must be marrying her to get out of doing manual labor. But after the wedding, the girl from the Song family stopped earning work points altogether. The industrious girl had suddenly turned into a lazy wife!

Before anyone could make sense of Song Ning'an's change, they heard that Educated Youth Liang was taking her back to the city to enjoy the good life!
