What’s it like for a modern grassroots civil servant to go back to ancient times and work as an adviser to a county magistrate?
Answer: Great. It’s completely within my comfort zone.
Meng Huiyue woke up one morning to find she’d transmigrated into the body of the legitimate eldest daughter of a Vice Minister of the Ministry of Rites.
But then came the terrible news: her father wanted to marry her off to a sixty-year-old man to advance his career!
Although she had a System to help her, there was no way she could escape Jingling.
What to do? Fake her death, flee the arranged marriage, and start over somewhere else under a new identity!
After plenty of twists and turns, the whole city of Jingling knew that Vice Minister Meng had lost his beloved eldest daughter and was consumed by grief!
With her trusted attendants in tow and her belongings packed, Huiyue slipped out of the city under cover of darkness!
But faced with an unfamiliar town thousands of miles away, Huiyue was at a loss. How would she make a living?
The Great Zhou was ruled by an empress, and women serving as officials was nothing unusual. After giving it some thought, she tore down the recruitment notice for an adviser at the Zhuyuan County Office and went back to her old line of work.
A county magistrate nearing retirement: Can’t you just let me lie flat?
Huiyue: Lie flat? Get up and check the household registers, repair the waterways, improve agriculture, open up trade routes, and make life better for the people! How are you less ambitious than I am?
In just three to five years, Zhuyuan County, which had ranked at the bottom of the annual assessments year after year, rose to third place in the whole prefecture!
Other counties sent people to learn from its successful methods.
Everyone from the prefect to the county magistrates tried to poach Huiyue.
Huiyue waved them away with righteous indignation. “No, thank you. I just want to push this county magistrate into becoming an overachiever.”
And so began the daily life of a modern civil servant managing ancient grassroots government!

Theme: Who says women are inferior to men?
I'm busy with the postgraduate entrance exams and rarely come here. Big boost to the author. Your writing is very good.
(I really like this article by the author, it is very vital and the description is also very delicate and light)
Why do chapters sometimes appear at the end?
"Fifty-fourth" is a big bug for the author~
What's the use of a man if he's useless? Either get rid of this burden or change to a mature one [eh~]
Um? Did you accidentally overwrite it or did you do it on purpose?
I'd better write a paragraph review. There are some parts that I think are well written and then I can't do a paragraph review. It's very frustrating.
The writing is very interesting, but it is a bit late to enter the infrastructure part. I skipped the first volume directly, and now I feel that it is getting better and better.
Some paragraphs are so long that they give me a headache. It would be nice if they could be divided into more sections.
""Why not? It's just trivial..." This is a big bug for the author~ Nodded
