I once took in a down-and-out dog and raised him year after year. He was unwaveringly loyal to me.
I never imagined he already belonged to someone else.
His owner came looking for trouble, and I was fed up with it. (I can't deny that the other owner had offered me far too much, either.) So I decided I didn't want him anymore. We agreed never to see each other again, in life or death.
Years passed. The down-and-out dog who had once followed me around had long since become a rich young master. He came to my village to sign a cooperation contract, film a variety show, and promote tourism.
He stepped out of a luxury car, radiating wealth and refinement.
At the time, I had just come out of the greenhouse.
