Awei is a banyan tree that has lived for 360 years and one month.
She opened a restaurant without a signboard in an ancient town in Yunnan. There were only a few words on the menu: "For today's recommendation, ask the boss lady."
The menu here changes every day. In the rainy season, there are matsutake sashimi and dried pepper porcini mushrooms; in the summer, there is lemon cold chicken and pounded chicken feet; in the late night, there is fire pit barbecue and Jianshui tofu; in the early morning, there is thin bean powder, freshly blanched rice noodles and freshly baked flower cakes.
Everyone who comes to eat has their own concerns.
A lovelorn girl, an office worker working overtime, a lost old man, a girl who ran away from home, a woman traveling alone after a divorce, a backpacker who broke his leg while hiking...
Awei never asked them what was wrong.
She just makes a suitable dish based on each person's appearance——
The sour soup makes tears flow, the white porridge warms the stomach, the grilled breast fan reminds people of hometown, and the pounded chicken feet makes my best friends cry and laugh together.
This store is very slow.
The dishes should be cooked slowly, the rice should be eaten slowly, and the knots in the heart should be slowly untied.
If you come to Yunnan one day, walk into this alley, and see the big banyan tree
——
Come in and sit down.
The landlady said: "Cook the dishes according to your mood. Eat the rice while it's hot. Take your time."
I wish each of us can happily eat every meal every day, take our time and wait for the wind to come.
Intent: In a fast-paced life, I hope everyone can draw some warmth and strength from this book.
