[Mythology Crossover] The Fox's Tale

I was reincarnated as a Tibetan fox, but I hadn't become a spirit yet. Other foxes were charming and beautiful, while I could only feel ashamed of myself. Other foxes looked delicious, while I had a completely expressionless face. I had planned to live an uneventful life in a fox den, but on a whim, I wanted to make an umbrella for a good friend to shelter him from wind and rain. I never finished the umbrella and was forced to venture into the human world instead. There was a young woman in the human world named Xiao Lian, who seemed to know my past life. She kept dropping hints and asking if I'd dreamed of a tall, slender, beautiful young man who looked like a woman. I think there's something wrong with her. Oh, right. Later, she became a he. A celestial book fell into the human world, each page transforming into a divine skill. Strange phenomena sprang up across the Nine Provinces. Nezha volunteered to descend to the mortal realm and retrieve the celestial book. As luck would have it, his old enemy from his previous life had been reincarnated as a fox, both pitiful and adorable. He thought that the debt his enemy owed him in their previous life would have to be repaid in this one. First-person narrative, my take on mythology and tales of the strange. The setting draws heavily on The Tale of Pingyao, with some original touches. No need to have read the original. Theme: There's always more to learn
