Xun Nan was just an ordinary college student. He had never imagined that one day he would get mixed up in illegal activities.
"System, is this really going to work?" Pulling stunts like this would get him reported to the Inspection Bureau if he got caught, wouldn't it?
"Don't worry, Host. As long as you take the lead, nothing will be a problem."
And so, the Church of Martyrdom appeared out of nowhere. Its founder walked among the people, and a god descended into the world.
The Church of Martyrdom had mysterious origins. Its followers revered death itself and fanatically worshipped a minor deity. Martyrdom itself was death.
Among them was a young man whom everyone feared and respected, honoring him with the title of bishop. Beneath the god, the bishop reigned supreme.
"And there are ghosts and monsters too, Host. Please prepare for them as soon as possible."
Xun Nan gaped in disbelief. "System, don't tell me you want me to make all of it real."
Thinking about what he had typed while in the throes of his adolescent phase, Xun Nan wanted to pass out on the spot.
"Yes, Host. One thousand people already believe. Please continue making it real."
The dead came back to life, monsters crossed the land, and the sky split open. One impossible event after another unfolded. Later generations would call that year the First Year of Chaos.
"Bishop Xun Nan really is the best person in the world!"
"Thanks to him, we can keep on living."
"Heh. System, you didn't say things would get this out of hand."
"Congratulations, Host. The ultimate goal has been achieved: the whole world believes."
"Don't try to change the subject!" Xun Nan wailed, then turned to the assembled believers and gave them a reassuring smile.
Reading Guide
1. The setting is fictional. Just treat it as background; it won't be explored in depth.
2. This is pure imagination and not especially serious. Plenty of things happen that wouldn't normally happen.
3. To be continued.
Theme: A wonderful world is best, but ordinary life is the greatest.
