Ten thousand years ago, the world was in chaos and demons ran rampant. Lord Lingwu wielded his sword to carve out a peaceful world and became the Heavenly River Immortal God, whose might shook all directions. The people revered the Nine Provinces of Xuantian in the Immortal Realm, and his fame surpassed even that of the Immortal Emperor.

Years passed, and every trade flourished. A divine edict fell upon the Nine Provinces, declaring that all demons in the world were evil and must be exterminated! From then on, whenever mortals encountered a demon, they dealt with minor demons themselves, while they called on Taoist priests to capture and execute powerful ones. Immortals and gods killed any demons they found, leaving none to carry on their line.

Ten thousand years later, chaos erupted once more between heaven and earth. The Heavenly River Immortal God returned to Xuantian. After the turmoil ended, shocking news emerged from the Immortal Realm and spread through the world in less than half a month!

The Heavenly River Immortal God had actually married a weak little demon!

What was this supposed to mean? It violated the rules! Where was the proper conduct of the immortals?

People were divided over the matter.

Some said it was a scheme to use love to deceive the daughter of the Demon King. The Nine Provinces of Xuantian wanted to conquer Peach Blossom Spring and claim that woodland for themselves. Others said the little demon was no ordinary creature, speculating that she was the incarnation of the calamity-bringing great demon from ten thousand years ago, and that the Heavenly River Immortal God had no choice but to make this decision in order to destroy her once and for all.

Everyone had their own explanation. Only those within the story knew the truth and how things had come to pass. What had sparked love and self-interest in the first place?
