Introduction to the novel
Zou Tunan wasn't sure when he turned into a machine.
Maybe from the day she opened his shell and started overhauling it.
In his life, no one had touched the port that was sealed at the factory. Even he himself didn't know that it could still be connected. She used that port and the control system of the entire machine was no longer under his control.
The needle on the instrument panel began to jump wildly, all safety valves failed at the same time, and the core temperature soared past the red line.
He wanted to press emergency stop but the button didn't respond; he wanted to cut the circuit but her instructions bypassed all his permissions and wrote directly to the underlying system.
He is the operator. He used to control the machine. Now he has become the machine and a part being debugged in the hands of others.
His body was operating to a limit that he had never reached before. In the few seconds when his consciousness was disconnected, the machine no longer responded to any of his instructions. It determined its own speed and output power.
He shook violently under the administrator's hands, and the fixing bolts flew apart one by one. All the safety devices jumped away, and finally collapsed there like a pile of dismantled parts.
The thought that I must go came to his mind.
You can tolerate being beaten, you can tolerate being controlled, you can tolerate handing over all the money, but this is not the case. Being deprived of control of the machine by an administrator, and becoming a complete weakling when being manipulated out of control, this is more uncomfortable than killing him.
So he ran away.
Later he discovered that there was no point in running.
The machine no longer recognizes the other operator. It only responds to that set of programs. The code carved in by the administrator cannot be read by anyone else. He tried several times, but the machine did not move at all, the instrument panel was dark, the tachometer returned to zero, and it could not even start.
He squatted at the door of her new community and watched her walk out side by side with another man. There was a relaxation in her eyebrows that he had never seen before.
His machine suddenly started up again. Just seeing her, all the lights on the dashboard came on, the tachometer hit the red line, and the engine started idling, which made his ribs ache.
She came over, looked at him and said, "It's time to cut your hair."
Then he swiped his card and entered the building without looking back.
He squatted under the streetlight and looked up at the window of the building. He put his hand on his heart and his heart was beating wildly in his palm, as if it was about to break through his ribs and rush out with every beat.
It was exactly the same as the last time she pulled his hand over and pressed it on his heart to let him feel it. At that time, the machine had just been adjusted for the first round and he was still shaking. She put his palm against the point where his heartbeat was the strongest and asked him if he felt it.
He felt that the entire system was out of control just like now, and all the readings were alarming like crazy.
He suddenly understood.
She repaired him from a rotten machine that was about to be scrapped to being able to run again. Now the machine's system only has her operating permissions, and someone else can't even enter the correct power-on password.
He came back not to beg her to get back together, but to apply for after-sales service.
"You've repaired it halfway, why can't you just ignore it?"
He faced the lighted window and said in a voice that only he could hear that he would never give up no matter what, even if he was a mistress, no, everything was first come, first served, and he was not a mistress.
