Synopsis
[I'm planning to write this one next, so please add it to your reading list~]
[Teary, capricious, coquettish, half-blind girl x Beautiful, strong, tragic, gloomy, affection-starved half-demon sword lord]
Spoiled, flirtatious crybaby x Gentle, sickly, obsessive madman | Junior sister x Senior brother
Yu Yao is half blind in both eyes, and with her damaged soul, she can barely cultivate. She is the most insignificant person in the entire sect, spending her days being ordered around and bullied by others.
She was lucky enough to take part in the battle against the fallen demons, but everyone forgot her in the realm of fallen demons.
She knew she wouldn't survive there alone.
Fortunately, that day she heard that Gu Heng, the sect's eldest senior brother and the radiant Lord of the Flowing Light Sword, was actually half-demon. His demonic bloodline had awakened, and his merciless path had shattered. In an instant, he had become a cripple, abandoned here too.
She thought maliciously that if she saved him, she could make the lofty sword lord work for her.
Yu Yao searched tirelessly through the Pool of Evil Thoughts for three days, and at last found him.
He ought to repay her kindness, listen to her, and do as she said.
But his noble, aloof manner only made her want to tease and humiliate him all the more.
Until one night, Gu Heng couldn't hold back any longer and revealed his demonic tail, winding it around her.
With tears in her eyes, Yu Yao could only let him do as he pleased, terrified.
After that, he seemed intent on getting revenge for all the cruel things she'd done to him. But why was his revenge so intimate, like something only a cultivation partner would do...
*
Yu Yao abandoned Gu Heng and secretly returned to the sect,
never expecting to hear a few days later that Gu Heng had come back too.
He had resumed his place as the lofty eldest senior brother.
She thought Gu Heng would let her go at last, and that they would have nothing more to do with each other.
But every night, instead of staying in his own cave dwelling, he would sneak into her room, shed his gentle, desireless mask, and cling to her obsessively in revenge.
Later, whenever Yu Yao heard his voice, her legs would go weak.
When he asked her to become his cultivation partner, she rejected him without hesitation.
At last, one day, she faked her death when the Sword Tomb collapsed.
*
Gu Heng had thought he would die in the Pool of Evil Thoughts, but Yu Yao saved him.
From that moment on, he was a demon dragged up from the abyss by her, tainted by evil thoughts and belonging to her alone.
At first, he wasn't used to her touch, but little by little, everything about her made him tremble with excitement.
She had no idea how alluring she was. She cried at the slightest thing, and couldn't even see the fascinated way he looked at her.
But she abandoned him and disappeared again... Everyone said she was dead, but he didn't believe it. He thought that once he found her, he would wrap her tightly in his demonic tail and merge her into his very bones, so they could never be separated again.
*
A hundred years later, when Gu Heng saw her again, he cut off his own demonic tail just to reach her and pull her into his arms.
"This time I'll stay by your side every moment, so you won't be able to abandon me again."
Yu Yao's lashes fluttered twice. "Doesn't it hurt?"
That night, Yu Yao regretted being softhearted. He still had two [ ]?!
Don't push it!
(The blurb was screenshotted on May 21, 2026. It may be revised, but the core tropes and character designs will stay the same.)
1. Monogamous couple, happy ending, romance-focused, plot serves the romance, my own take on cultivation, lots of original worldbuilding.
2. Neither lead is a good person in the traditional sense. The heroine thinks she's fierce and wicked, but she's really just a girl who throws tantrums. Her eyesight will recover, and she'll become very powerful later. The hero is a half-demon with a snake's attributes, the kind whose body turns demonic. He has a strong gloomy, ghostly vibe, so read with care if that's not your thing~
Moral: Even a firefly can pierce the long night.
