The on-screen kissing scene in the rain continued.

The male and female leads' shirts were soaked through and clung to their skin as they bit at each other's lips, the scene tinged with the thrill of something forbidden.

Zhong Wei leaned back in her chair, staring at the close-up with boredom.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the male guest she'd been flirting with for three months rest his fingertips on the back of her chair, inching a little closer.

For some reason, she suddenly thought of Xu Lian.

One day, they had watched a movie with the same kind of clichéd kissing scene. Curled up in his arms, she had muttered, “They're just secretly nibbling on each other. So boring. I'm not jealous at all.”

Zhong Wei had snuck a glance at his profile, only to see him staring motionlessly at the screen like a block of wood.

She'd lost heart, thinking he was completely no fun.

Zhong Wei was the one who ended things.

When her friend asked why, she had said with a broken heart, “He's no good in bed, and he's so old-fashioned! Dating him is no fun at all. I've lost feelings for him.”

Just like that, half a year had passed since the breakup.

Zhong Wei came back to herself, feeling a little thirsty, and reached for her Coke. A hand suddenly shot out of the darkness and grabbed her wrist.

Zhong Wei stiffened all over, nearly crying out.

The screen's cold, pale light fell on the man's face beside her, making him look deathly white. His icy fingertips pressed against the mole on her wrist, rubbing it again and again with heavy strokes.

When they were together, he had always been steady and reserved, careful not to overstep when they were intimate.

He had never touched her in a way this shameless before.

As if noticing her panicked gaze, Xu Lian slowly turned his head, shifting his eyes from the screen to her face.

“Long time no see.” Xu Lian smiled. “Looks like you have a thing for innocent guys.”

He leaned close, ignoring her trembling, seized her wrist, and pressed a wet, lingering kiss to the corner of her lips.

Looking over her shoulder, Xu Lian's gaze turned icy as he met the astonished stare of the young man behind her.

“Is it exciting now? Do you feel anything? If you still do...”

Xu Lian stared at her, his fingertips brushing the corner of her lips as an unsettling light appeared in his eyes.

“Your six-month cooling-off period is over, baby. Isn't it time to come home?”

Back then, Zhong Wei had no idea that during their first date, while he stared motionlessly at the movie screen, the only thought in the man's mind had been:

I want to kiss her.

I want to ruin her.
