The Rich Heiress Won't Stop Showering Me with Gifts

That night, rain poured in torrents.

Chen Yu found a girl in Luowan Alley.

Bruised and purple-faced, she was curled up in a cardboard box, shivering.

Chen Yu had only come here to study abroad and didn't want any trouble, so she hadn't wanted to get involved.

But the girl looked so pitiful, watching her with big, catlike, wary eyes.

Sigh...

"My name is Chen Yu." She took off her down jacket.

"Come with me." She wrapped the girl up tightly and brought her back to her cramped rental room.

"Thank you. My name is Qian Nian."

From then on, Chen Yu had a little shadow named Qian Nian following her around.

They ate together.

They worked together.

They watched the sun set over the sea together.

They ate street-side barbecue together.

Their days spent keeping each other company made them lose sight of the road they'd taken to get there.

Until reality came crashing down like a giant blade.

Qian Nian's hesitation

would send her back to Huaguo again and again

in the years that followed, searching for Chen Yu.

Time after time.

Then one day, at last, in a little restaurant,

she saw Chen Yu... and her wife.

Qian Nian gave a cold laugh. "There's no couple in this world you can't break up, and no relationship you can't steal your way into."
