Would You Cling to Me Even If It Killed You, Bro?

[My Dead Brother]

When Jin Cheng learned that his adoptive brother, Xie Lidan, had died, he was attending an imperial banquet.

In front of everyone, he staggered as if he might faint from grief at any moment.

Only Jin Cheng knew he was digging his nails into his palm to keep from laughing out loud.

Xie Lidan was the orphaned son of the Empire's Marshal, an adopted son of the Jin family, and the perfect big brother.

To outsiders, he was the model of maturity and reliability, a brother who treated his little brother with love. In private, however, he was a control freak, always determined to outdo Jin Cheng in everything.

Now Xie Lidan had died at a Zerg outpost, taking the Zerg Queen's eggs with him in an explosion. What a gloriously heroic death.

At the funeral, every mourner sighed, "Young Master Jin and Young Master Xie were as close as brothers. He must have cried himself unconscious by now."

With his back to everyone, Jin Cheng stared at the black-and-white portrait and muttered, "Even dead, you have to make such a show of yourself?"

"What a poser."

From then on, no one would fight Jin Cheng for the family fortune, no one would keep him under their thumb, and no one would try to control him with that hypocritical face.

This wasn't a funeral. It was his victory party.

Jin Cheng swiftly took over the enormous inheritance Xie Lidan had left behind.

Looking at the string of zeroes in his account, enough to buy a planet, Jin Cheng was in such a good mood that he hired eight male models to come over that very night.

The young master got thoroughly drunk. In his haze, the male models' faces seemed to turn into those of his dead brother.

The young master stared in terror. "You..."

His dead brother covered his mouth. A cold presence drew near, bringing with it the familiar, shiver-inducing pressure. He whispered in Jin Cheng's ear:

"Dear little brother, your big brother has come back as a ghost to find you."

"You know how much style I have, don't you?"
