(Updates whenever I have time)
Baicheng No. 1 High School, a high school.
The news from a few days ago had already been explosive enough: the top student in the grade had transferred classes for the sake of the school belle! Everyone was stunned.
But this time, the news was even more shocking: a handsome boy had joined Class One of Grade Eleven!
A transfer student! And his grades were still excellent.
By coincidence, the second-ranking student in the grade took the whole day off on the transfer student's first day.
The transfer student thought the second-ranking student was avoiding him, unwilling to look at his handsome face, and sneered.
But when Wen Jiayu arrived with her schoolbag the next day, Nan Jinian was left staring, dumbfounded.
How was she the second-ranking student? She was a gorgeous girl!
And so began a new chapter in this midsummer story.
Wen Jiayu started pursuing Nan Jinian.
She secretly watched him in class, slipped chocolate or mangoes into his desk, and used her best friend Ning Xia to learn more about him.
Nan Jinian knew she was pursuing him, but neither rejected nor accepted her. He simply kept her hanging.
When everyone found out, they all joined in the teasing, openly saying what was on their minds.
But a young girl's shy crush always comes to an end. That bittersweet feeling is truly painful.
One night, someone broke into Wen Jiayu's home and wreaked havoc, leaving almost all the furniture ransacked. Her mother was brutally murdered, too.
With no other choice, Wen Jiayu and her father transferred to another school and moved elsewhere with help from their neighbors.
She was like a bird: once she had settled in, she simply spread her wings and flew away.
Nan Jinian began to regret things. He began to miss her.
He even ate the chocolate she had given him on the day it expired.
His stomach began to hurt.
Most days, he did little but sit lost in thought or stare blankly into space. Only when his friend patted his shoulder would he come back to himself.
He took over the second-ranking spot in the grade.
Let me use your place to leave a mark that belongs to you.
Six years later, they met again in Baicheng, where the evening breeze blew.
"Why did you leave six years ago?"
"Because I had to make it up to you, silly."
"The days of midsummer keep moving forward, and a young man's youth never ends."
"Why do people only regret losing something instead of cherishing it while they have it?"
