Pioneering an Alien World: Farming and Catching Elves

Survival / Exploration / Farming / Pet-Taming / Development

As a second-tier city girl who could barely lift a finger for housework and knew nothing about farming, Yu Jing never expected to be forcibly sent to an undeveloped wasteland planet to handle grassroots development.

The cheap nutrient solution she got from the sign-in was sour. The supposedly top-quality old bed left behind by her former coworker was broken. The roof was ancient and leaky.

To improve her life, Yu Jing resolved to completely transform the wasteland planet.

The planet was vast and empty, and the System showed that wild spirits were everywhere.

Spirits could use magic and easily cripple any humans who trespassed on their territory. Only people with both talent and the right tools could tame spirits and put them to work.

She soon discovered that she had a real knack for catching spirits.

[Known spirit detected: "Little Egret" is especially attached to you. Would you like to capture it?]

[Capture successful! You have formed a contract with Little Egret.]

Little Egret rubbed affectionately against Yu Jing's leg. Yu Jing tentatively gestured. "Could you catch me a tender fish with lots of meat and few bones?"

Little Egret splashed around in the river and caught a plump, tender fish.

[Known spirit detected: "Muddy Bo." Would you like to capture it?]

[Capture successful! You have formed a contract with Muddy Bo.]

Yu Jing called out enthusiastically, "Little Bo, eat this dirt and spit it out in blocks. That's it, that's it! You're doing great!"

Muddy Bo spat out neat blocks of earth. Houses built from them were sturdier than ordinary stone houses.

[Known spirit detected: "Arm Vine." Would you like to capture it?]

[Capture successful! You have formed a contract with Arm Vine.]

Yu Jing gestured, and Arm Vine understood at once. The weeds in the wasteland retreated like a tide, turning the ground into farmland.

One morning, a new creature appeared outside Yu Jing's home.

System notification: [Unknown spirit detected: "???". Would you like to capture it?]

Yu Jing: ?

Capture my foot! Hasn't the stupid System realized this is a little boy? And a very handsome one, at that.

...Wait, do humans have ears this long?

Whatever. Who cares who he is? At last, she had a humanoid helper. Come here, you're mine.

Soon, extreme winter cold, mutated beast hordes, scorching heat and humidity, torrential rain, and floods came one after another.

Yu Jing's planet grew stronger with every setback and gradually got back on track. The first thing she did after becoming a major power in the universe was make sure she had people working for her.

With granaries full and supplies abundant, she hung out a sign amid the cries of people suffering through one disaster after another: Refugees from across the universe welcome! Food and lodging provided. Come join our grand reclamation project and make your dreams come true!

Years later, a reporter held out a microphone to the most popular and respected chief executive in Federation history. "What would you say was the key to your success, going from a remote wasteland planet on the edge of the frontier to where you are today, all on your own?"

Yu Jing smiled. "Luck, hard work, and most importantly, ability."

After a genetic modification experiment went wrong, Bai Ruo was exiled to an uninhabited, barren planet on the edge of the star region.

Just as everything went black before her eyes, a game called Lord's Conquest suddenly appeared.

▷ Main Quest: New Lord ◁: Obtain and use a Lord's Foundation Stone during the beginner protection period to become a lord.

Failure penalty: Death.

On Imperial Capital Star, people bid unimaginable sums for a single foundation stone, and countless lives were lost over them.

On this barren, abandoned planet, there was no competition, and foundation stones were scattered everywhere, unwanted by anyone.

[Congratulations, you have obtained [Lord's Foundation Stone: Livelihood]!]

[Congratulations, you have obtained [Lord's Foundation Stone: Collection]!]

[Congratulations, you have obtained [Lord's Foundation Stone: Construction]!]

There was even a foundation stone no one had ever seen before.

[The [Lord's Foundation Stone: Balance] possesses the properties of all Lord's Foundation Stones, but upgrading it requires an enormous amount of materials. Do you still wish to use it?]

Bai Ruo chose yes without hesitation.

After the beginner period, scorching heat, extreme cold, torrential rain, and pollution arrived one after another. On the world channel, people cried out in despair: We lack materials, energy, weapons, and food. Every time we open our eyes, there's another disaster. This is no way to live.

Under Bai Ruo's leadership, the territory on the barren planet not only escaped damage, but grew ever more prosperous.

There was no longer any shortage of food, weapons were plentiful, the treasury was overflowing, and even the population, once their biggest headache, began rising exponentially.

When the Lord Combat Rankings were announced, everyone speculated about the mysterious number one, who was far ahead of the rest.

[How could anyone have a Level 10 Lord's Base so quickly? They must be cheating!]

[She has ten times as many subjects as I do? Impossible, absolutely impossible!]

[Boss, please take me in! I haven't been a lord for years.]

More and more people chose to pledge allegiance to her, and her realm grew ever larger. Bai Ruo gazed at the countless stars revolving in her hands and smiled without a word.

Her goal was the entire universe.
