Sib was a cat. The day before, his owner had died.

Zhou Yuan, the owner of a famous escape room in Beixian City, was found dead inside one of the rooms by a player. For a while, speculation ran wild: suicide, murder, or an accident?

A seemingly flawless suicide note led to the case being ruled a suicide. The case was closed too hastily, and just as online discussions reached a fever pitch, a video suddenly appeared on Zhou Yuan's own account.

In the video was an imperious tabby cat.

Sib was Zhou Yuan's cat, raised on detective stories. Zhou Yuan would often tell him about scraps of inspiration and the troubles he occasionally faced.

No one in the world knew those escape rooms better than Zhou Yuan.

If anyone did, it could only be his cat.

His owner treasured his life more than anyone. Sib didn't believe he'd kill himself.

So he decided to investigate.

The news spread among the animals. The ragdoll cat in the household couldn't help laughing at him. "Admit it, Sib, you can't do anything. You're just a cat. And now you're a stray, too."

Sib didn't care at all. "Have you heard of Sherlock Holmes?"

Iris: "Of course. He's your idol."

Sib: "Then from now on, I'm Sherlock Holmes Sib, and you..."

"...are Watson Meow."

Human bullets apparently have a nickname too: peanut kernels.

Iris: "I hope one of those peanut kernels doesn't pierce your poor little head."

Humans can't be trusted. The animals join forces to solve the case.

The escape room, The Spirit-Locking Courtyard, has four roles corresponding to four players, yet a person who shouldn't exist appears inside.

As they gradually uncover the secrets of the escape room and its players, the truth finally begins to emerge.

Later, the truth came to light, and the murderer was finally put behind bars.

He couldn't understand where he'd gone wrong.

There was a damn stray cat who kept getting in his way, but he'd never taken the cat seriously.

It was only an animal, after all. It couldn't talk.

Until the police officer showed him a video.

In the video, hundreds of parrots perched on telephone wires, recounting his entire crime, piece by piece.

And not far away, two cats were looking through the screen...

smiling at him.

Sib disliked Iris because he always acted as if his pedigree made him superior, looking down on a stray cat like Sib.

Although that ragdoll cat was sharp-tongued and aloof, there was no denying he was beautiful...

Especially his fluffy tail, swaying lazily and making a cat's heart itch.

On a rainy night, Iris fell into the murderer's hands. His snowy white fur drooped, and he no longer looked noble.

Even though he knew the time bought by the mice drawing away the murderer was precious, Sib couldn't help saying to the huddled Iris, "Maybe you could call me Big Brother Sib to show your gratitude."

Iris gritted his teeth, his beautiful jade-green eyes narrowing. "Dear big brother, hurry up and get me out of here."

Sib swished his tail and cheerfully walked toward him.

"Iris, I still prefer you when you're defiant."
