Synopsis
Su Jiao, director of a district office, was legendary for holding her liquor and known for her incorruptible ways. Yet she was brought down by a single welcome banquet.
When she opened her eyes again, she was dressed in a phoenix crown and bridal robes, with suona horns blaring all around her. She had transmigrated into the Song Dynasty, becoming another Su Jiao, a woman with the same name who had been schemed against by her scumbag cousin, tormented, and ultimately killed. Her courtesy name was Xiaomei, and she was known to the world as Su Xiaomei.
Little did she know that at the very moment she transmigrated, Su Shi had encountered a little monster in his study. The little monster spoke of a Luo Shen, whose ability to fight monsters and level up determined Su Shi's demotion index and happiness index.
As memories of the humiliations from her past life unlocked one after another, she tore off her red bridal veil, gathered up her skirt, and rushed out the door. On the way, she shoved her pregnant lover into the bridal sedan chair. "Liu Lian'er, you can marry Cheng Lang!"
A fake bride took the real one's place, while the true bride escaped to the capital under cover of night.
In Bianjing, she disguised herself as a man, took the special examinations, and entered the Censorate. Battling her way through every obstacle, she became the "Censor Su," both respected and feared by the entire court.
At that moment, she was like a bright moon rising slowly into the sky.
Censor Su was a force to be reckoned with. She altered the rankings, foiled treacherous officials' secret plots, quietly prevented the Crow Terrace Poetry Case from ever happening, and reclaimed the Sixteen Prefectures of Youyun. Even her second uncle, who had no idea who she really was, couldn't help writing to Su Xun to ask, "Whose young man is this Censor Su?"
Su Shi, who often spoke to empty air and was thought by his family to have gone mad, kept asking after arriving in the capital, "Xiaomei, are you Luo Shen?"
Only then did she realize that after her transmigration, Heaven had treated her as a System and bound her to Su Shi. Su Shi had misheard her former online handle, "Luo Shen," as "Luoshen."
Little did she know that by then, she was no longer merely Su Shi's personal System. Like every person who transmigrates into the Song Dynasty in a novel, she had acquired a dream of making the Song strong.
She brought peace to the four seas and blessings to all the people, shining like a bright moon across the rivers and mountains of the Great Song.
She could sway the world and plan for every contingency. She thought herself immune to every poison, yet one careless moment was all it took to fall for the seemingly righteous, seemingly wicked gaze of a handsome young man.
At their first meeting, her horse bolted during the procession celebrating her success in the examinations, and he came to her aid.
At their next meeting, when a princess took an interest in her, she pulled him close and pretended they were lovers.
At their third meeting, she was poisoned at a lotus banquet. He carried her into a bathing tub, and the layers of cloth binding her chest drifted open in ripples across the water...
When her disguise was exposed, he was relieved. So Censor Su was a young woman after all, which meant his feelings for her weren't a case of loving men!
There was one thing even the ever-calculating Censor Su hadn't expected: the handsome young man whose eyes and heart were filled with her was the eldest legitimate son of Wang Anshi, the Su family's political enemy!
From then on, the pair of bickering lovers fought and fell in love in equal measure.
[Reborn female censor with brains and beauty vs. aloof, flirtatious Investigating Secretary of the Privy Council]
Next book: The Bamboo-Weaving Girl and Her Couch-Potato Crown Prince, also known as The Deer in the Struggle for the Central Plains
[Down-on-her-luck bamboo artisan with an unbreakable spirit vs. decisive, apathetic spare heir to the Eastern Palace]
Yun Che, a modern bamboo artisan, opened her eyes to find she had transmigrated into the daughter of the Marquis of Zhenbei.
She fell off a cliff while fleeing an arranged marriage. Her adoptive parents died unexpectedly, her little brother and sister needed raising, and her clan members were eager to take everything from her...
Along with a body covered in injuries and empty pockets, she inherited one obsession: she would never marry the Crown Prince, Lu Cangwu.
To bury her adoptive parents, she made a verbal marriage pact with a beggar named Lu Shisan, promising to support him by weaving bamboo baskets. And just like that, she had another couch-potato husband to provide for.
Fortunately, she had her bamboo-weaving skills to rely on. Once she set out to make money, she became wealthy, turning a terrible hand into a royal flush.
Life was supposed to stay this peaceful. Who could have guessed that Lu Shisan was actually Lu Cangwu, and that her quiet, happy life would turn into a world of flashing blades...
