As the saying goes, the greater your power, the greater your responsibility. As a prodigy of the Uchiha Clan, Uchiha Itachi shouldered heavy responsibilities at a young age, worrying himself sick over Konoha and his foolish little brother. After the Fourth Great Ninja War, he returned peacefully to the Pure Land, with no regrets.

So why was he reborn?

When he opened his eyes, Uchiha Itachi was back at the age of four, on the battlefield. He couldn't help thinking, It seemed the heavens thought he still hadn't done enough, or done it right.

After making a complete mess of things... he discovered he wasn't the only one who had been reborn. His foolish little brother had been reborn too, and he was furious.

Uchiha Itachi hadn't wanted to be reborn. He had arranged for his little brother to kill him so that his brother would have a reasonable excuse to return to Konoha, and so that, as a member of the Uchiha Clan, he could atone by killing the man who had slaughtered his clan.

Now that he was reborn, could that still count as atonement? This wasn't Impure World Reincarnation, which could be undone at any time.

Uchiha Itachi didn't want to live. He had always wanted to die, and after preventing the coup this time, he planned his death once more.

But then the Ōtsutsuki Clan arrived, his brother was reborn, and one upheaval followed another, shaking his resolve to die as he should have. After all these years, his little brother was still that child who had given everything up when he died...
