Everyone is born with a talent of their own, but not every talent fits the times.
Take the dragon tamer born in the twenty-first century who can tame dinosaurs, or Wei Xing, a cultivation genius living in an era when spiritual energy is all but depleted.
She was born able to see other people's fortunes, and in this technological society, she is the only cultivator who can directly face and alter her own fortune and destiny. "Gifted" hardly does her justice.
But in this era of declining cultivation, all her efforts amount to little more than a mantis trying to stop a chariot. Beneath the wheels of the times, an individual's efforts are no more than a grain of dust.
Yet a genius can also be a madwoman: she either gets everything or loses everything.
She stakes it all, spending every bit of fortune she has accumulated to break through the shackles of her era. This takes her to a more barren interstellar age, one teeming with monsters and demons.
Insects, monsters, mutants, robots, androids, new humans, mechs.
Constant war, death, and despair.
Wei Xing laughs in exasperation. But a wager is a wager, and she can only start over from scratch.
Risk also means opportunity. With monsters and demons everywhere and despair spreading, when things reach their extreme, they turn around. This is a crisis and an opportunity: rise to the top or fall from the clouds, gain everything or lose it all. This is Wei Xing's next choice.
Note: No romance in the main story. Everyone is a villain.
