Actually, I've always understood what she was saying.
As an exchange student from abroad at our school, she would occasionally speak a few words in her native language when chatting with people, and everyone was very understanding.
But I really wanted to laugh, because I understood her.
She would swear with a perfectly straight face, then switch back to our language and smile:
"Sorry, I didn't quite catch that. Could you say it again?"
Maybe she knew I loved listening to her speak with a smile, because she became more and more unguarded around me.
"What are you laughing at, you..." "You're so annoying." "Stop laughing!"
Until one day, I accidentally spoke her hometown's language:
"I understand you, you know."
I still remember how she panicked and hurriedly covered my mouth.
She looks so cute when she blushes.
[But I never imagined that one day, you would use those words to hurt me.]
[It's okay. I'm still willing to be your little ear.]
