Socially anxious Shen Zhixian doesn’t dare speak loudly, afraid she might startle someone in a dream, so she timidly reaches out and lifts the bride’s red veil. Just as expected, she’s a ghost!

Reader advisory:

1. The heroine’s best friend gets plenty of page time. No rivalry between women and no romance between women; each has her own pairing: prim young lady × smiling judge / chattering office worker × kind-hearted puppy.

2. Mystery and the supernatural, with a little court intrigue. Imaginative, mildly scary, and full of original worldbuilding. Not a power fantasy.

3. The male lead appears in Chapter Five. The romance is a slow simmer, but guaranteed sweet.
