[A slice-of-life story set in the past, mainly about the heroine's life and studies. I'll start posting once I have 140,000 of the planned 300,000 words written. If the blurb interests you, please add it to your favorites!]
As a teenager, Ding Xueya was hopelessly lovesick. She gave up her studies and a good home, insisting on eloping with a scumbag.
It didn't take long for him to lose interest. He secretly found someone new behind her back, and when Ding Xueya found out, she dumped him on the spot.
After taking the scumbag's breakup money, Ding Xueya was too embarrassed to go straight home. She struggled for more than ten years before finally making something of herself. But then, on her way back to her hometown to make peace with her parents, she got into a car accident.
When she opened her eyes again, she was back in the summer before starting middle school, in the urban village where she'd lived for more than a decade.
Having experienced great highs and lows, then died young, Ding Xueya made a major decision: she didn't want to put herself through any more trouble. This time around, she just wanted to stay by her parents and older sister, be a happy couch potato, and experience the life she'd missed out on.
But her parents' salaries were just enough for one trip home for New Year's, and her brilliant older sister couldn't get into a good high school because of her household registration... How was she supposed to lie flat in peace?!
Rather than push herself, she'd push others. With her business savvy, Ding Xueya found a clear path forward for each of her parents and her sister.
And her? Have you ever seen a military strategist go into battle herself? Of course she was going to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
P.S. The setting is partly fictional. Place names, policies, and so on draw on reality, but please don't take it as a completely realistic depiction.
