Everyone who studies the history of modern magic eventually hits the same wall: Riddle.
Not one Riddle, but two.
Alice Leona Riddle, the youngest Minister in the history of the Ministry of Magic and the founder of the modern wizarding legal system. Her reforms were precise and sharp, each cut cutting into the arteries of the pure-blood family. Opponents called her "Iron-fisted Slytherin" and supporters called her "Queen of the System." She accepted every name she was called, and her smile never failed to show.
Tom Marvolo Riddle, codenamed Voldemort, was the most feared dark wizard in the second half of the twentieth century. He has never publicly acknowledged his kinship with the minister, nor has he ever truly denied it. His power grows in the dark, like hyphae, like snakes.
There are so many "supposedly" stories about their true relationship. It is said that they lived together in an orphanage when they were young. It is said that they fired the Unforgivable Curses at each other in the Chamber of Secrets at Hogwarts. Their souls are said to be linked in some forbidden way. It is said that after the death of Dorothy Smith - Minister Alice's only confidant - at the hands of Voldemort, they still maintained some kind of unbreakable connection.
Most of these "supposedly" have no evidence.
But one fact is certain: in 1981, they both disappeared at the same time.
