Blurb: [Blurb withdrawn]
Si Qingjiu, an S-class Alpha with the codename Thorn.
At eighteen, he fought his way to the seventh-level mecha tournament, earning a reputation for his aloof personality and his viciously underhanded style in the arena.
Some called him a born battle maniac. His followers were crazy about him, while his opponents were both furious and wary, yet unable to suppress a secret fascination with him.
People also often talked about his exceptionally well-proportioned physique and the beautiful, powerful lines of his muscles, like an elegant predator poised to strike.
And those sharp, stunning eyes beneath his mask.
“Genius!” the public called him. No one could help loving him.
Min Huo, another Alpha, was savage and unruly, and widely acknowledged as the only opponent who could give Si Qingjiu a real fight. They had faced off in the arena, and the whole crowd had been swept up in the tense, heated match.
But no one knew that after the competition, the two of them would be desperate to kiss, their tongues tangling so fiercely they could practically taste each other’s pheromones until the scent became familiar.
In Si Qingjiu’s room, Min Huo’s blue peacock spirit slowly spread its tail. Meanwhile, its owner was frantically begging the beautiful man whose voice remained haughty and aloof, even as his lips had been kissed red and swollen, to let him come.
“Will you behave?” Si Qingjiu asked, his voice slightly hoarse.
Min Huo caught Si Qingjiu’s fingertip between his teeth and gently nuzzled it. “I’ll behave. You made me, after all. Don’t you know what I’m like by now...?”
Si Qingjiu stroked his cheek as if fondly indulging him. He didn’t say whether he believed him, only graciously allowed him to kneel.
An inexplicable explosion occurred during a competition. A rising mecha prodigy was critically injured and fell into a coma. The other mecha pilot, Min Huo, went missing.
Officials determined that the explosion had originated in Si Qingjiu’s mecha, suggesting that he might have made illegal modifications to it.
Overnight, the confident genius who had stood atop the pedestal became a disgraced competitor, reviled by everyone.
Those who loved him couldn’t accept it. Those who hated him were stunned, then erupted into even more frenzied rage. For the next few years, everyone searched for him, but Si Qingjiu seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth.
A few more years passed, and both love and hatred gradually faded. In the Lower District, a beautiful man with a limp made his living repairing mechanical constructs. The horrific scar on his brow did nothing to diminish his striking face, and instead gave it a distinctive allure.
*
After the explosion, someone pulled Si Qingjiu back from the brink of death, but he was left with an enormous medical debt. With his frail, battered body, he had no choice but to start over from the beginning.
What was even more devastating to Si Qingjiu was that he was pregnant.
An Alpha’s body was not suited to carrying a child. Si Qingjiu’s old injuries made his waist and legs ache, and they felt unusually weak and sore.
“...Bastard.” A sheen of fine sweat appeared on Si Qingjiu’s forehead. He curled up, remembering the wildness of that last night. But the tight embrace that had once surrounded him was gone.
He lowered his eyes.
Seven years ago, Si Qingjiu left the arena in the most devastating way. Seven years later, he would return to the top, covered in scars.
Important: The author’s note at the end of Chapter One also has content warnings!
1. The recipient’s codename is Thorn, and in the main story he has several secret identities. He did not illegally modify his mecha. Happy ending.
2. A very complicated couple who are madly in love with each other. Neither is perfect, and each has their own twisted side. You could say they’re both awful in their own way. Not for perfectionists.
3. Characters’ values do not represent the author’s. This is my take on mecha fiction, with lots of original worldbuilding.

The last update was in August. If the teacher can't update normally, can I give him a leave of absence? I know that I failed once before, but it was only that one time. Then the teacher completely disappeared and became invisible. As a reader, I don't know whether the author is stuck or is too busy or just doesn't want to write. The fate of serialized novels is so miserable...
Teacher, can you still update this article? It's been two weeks...
When will the boss resume updating? [Lie down]
Oh, why did you just finish reading it? Will the updates be resumed daily? 😳
I felt relieved when I saw the teacher's leave announcement. Teacher, waiting for you to come back [biting handkerchief]
Boss, are you still updating... Didn't you say that if there is no update, you will take leave... If there is something wrong with Kavin at this stage, please tell me [Lie down]
It's been ten days, why hasn't there been an update 😭
Boss... When will we update? 😭
? Why is there no update... Where is my rice, boss...
