After coming to Yokohama, office worker Kanata Chio's already bad luck got even worse.

It was usually just things like breaking a pen, the water dispenser leaking, or narrowly avoiding getting caught in a crossfire.

But ever since she got caught up in an ability space and met a certain Russian man, her luck went into overdrive, as if a probe were targeting his bad-luck attribute.

She really does disrupt his plans without even trying, and even gets a fluffy dropped item out of it; she accidentally steps on a loose manhole cover and discovers the Rats in the House of the Dead's cargo in the drainage ditch; all sorts of schemes and plots get knocked down by a gust of wind before they can even be set up like dominoes.

Her coworker at the Armed Detective Agency, Dazai Osamu, notices the problem. So he starts hanging around near her, waiting for an opportunity and using her as a "probe." Then, while he keeps hanging around, he ends up falling for her.

"Oh, don't be so heartless, Chio~"

"Then please pay for your coffee just now, thanks..."
