Laid-Back Fish vs. Overachiever
Xu Lingjia was born into the cultivation world, and the thing she found hardest to get used to was how cultivators were always challenging each other to duels.
To avoid those duels, she decided to be a laid-back fish, spending ten years holed up in a secluded library pavilion in her sect.
During a trial, she somehow ended up trapped in a secret realm with her ex, playing a loving married couple!
As they hugged, they traded harsh words. Even when they kissed, they had to see who could outdo the other. At night, Xu Lingjia and Yan Ao slept with a wide gulf between them. The master of the illusion had said that the two of them could leave only after seeing the story through to the end.
To escape, Xu Lingjia played the gentle, considerate confidante, while Yan Ao dropped his aloof facade and showed her concern at every turn. The two of them actually...
According to the plot, the characters Xu Lingjia and Yan Ao were playing should have grown to hate each other because of love.
She picked up her sword and challenged Yan Ao, just as the story demanded, only to find him guiding her hand as she plunged the blade into his chest.
Blood gushed out, and the illusion shattered.
Xu Lingjia went back to her laid-back ways, but Yan Ao kept forcing her to train in martial arts.
At the sect's annual tournament the following year, the disciples discovered that their laid-back senior sister had become the foremost figure in the righteous path.
And after the senior and second senior brothers were injured, they came running to her for comfort.
Has the world gone mad?
