A Billionaire System at 74

After waking from a high fever, Yan Youlan, the brigade leader's youngest daughter, was transformed. She went from being a virtuous homemaker to someone who bought everything in sight.

Whether it was meat, new clothes, or even a rare bicycle, she brought it all home as if it cost nothing. In the 1970s, when buying things required not just money but ration coupons, the villagers saw this as sheer extravagance!

Some said Yan Youlan's personality had changed because she was so devastated after her high fever caused her to miss a matchmaking meeting with the son of the neighboring brigade leader. Others said she was simply spending her parents' and brothers' money with abandon, since she had three brothers who were workers and a father who was the brigade leader.

Before the villagers had finished gossiping about her sudden change in personality, another big event shook the brigade leader's family: they had taken in Wu Zhenyu, a young educated youth who had come to the countryside with his mother, as their youngest daughter's live-in husband!

Villagers with unmarried sons slapped their thighs in dismay: that educated youth must have tricked them with his silver tongue!

Yan Youlan didn't care that people were saying she'd been bewitched by an educated youth sent down to the countryside.

All she cared about was whether she'd gotten a boost from Wu Zhenyu's good fortune that day, whether her spending had triggered a double payout, and how much more money and how many more coupons the tycoon System would give her tomorrow than it had today.

It didn't matter whether other people thought Wu Zhenyu was any good. Handsome, hardworking, educated, good-tempered, and even able to make her "rich by the day," Wu Zhenyu was the best husband in the world in Yan Youlan's eyes!
