Ten years ago, while investigating the mystery surrounding his master's death, Xing Shu fell into a whirlpool of crime and corruption. To protect Shang Li, he severed their relationship with his own hands and left without looking back in the pouring rain.
Ten years later, he is a criminal investigation team captain who walks among crime and darkness. He solves cold cases and hunts down the real culprit, driven by a solitary courage and the need to bring the past to account.
A series of murders brings him face to face with his former lover once more.
Shang Li has long since shed the awkwardness of his youth and become a man of business with a quiet, commanding presence. He seems cool and distant, but in his eyes linger ten years of unresolved resentment and obsession.
As the old case gives rise to new crimes and the schemes grow ever more tangled, the two are forced to work together. They test each other at the edge of life and death, caught between suspicion and desire.
Xing Shu looked at the man before him, his voice hoarse. "I wronged you back then."
Shang Li raised his eyes, a faint chill in his smile. "Xing Shu, it's been ten years. You owe me far more than an apology."
The night stretches on, and the crimes come to light.
He walked alone through the abyss, until at the end of the road, beneath the glow of the lights, he finally welcomed home the one he loved.
