For a long time afterward, the whole empire spread the story that the female monarch Zeferino had a deceased beloved, a low-ranking male insect who had died in battle.

At last, the Insect Emperor learned that the Empress was carrying my child and issued a warrant for me across the entire universe. He was certain I wasn't dead.

Just as I was frantically running for my life, the empire's treasured rose raised an army in rebellion, determined to install me as the new Insect Emperor.

That's right, he'd found me. With his belly swollen, he held me in his arms and kissed my lips again and again. He was about to break my wings.

“Whoever I love will be the next Insect Emperor. My child will always be the empire's crown prince. Darling, if you run again, I'll break your wings.”

I trembled in fear. Under the threats and temptations of the female monarch and Empress, I became the new Insect Emperor and began a shameless married life.
