[Popular Singer Bottom x Deaf Tattoo Artist Top]
Shi Yunqi was widely recognized in the industry as a gifted singer.
Onstage, he shone like a star. But the world in his earpiece had long since fallen apart.
He thought that if he were perfect enough, no one would leave.
Until the night of a concert, when he lost his hearing completely.
At four in the morning, unable to sleep, Shi Yunqi passed a tattoo shop.
The warm yellow lights were still on, and the windows were covered with photographs.
He stood outside, secretly watching a man bent over his designs.
The man had a close-cropped haircut, a sharp jawline, and the silence of a sheathed blade.
He didn't know who the man was, and the man didn't know who he was.
But for the first time in three years, his tinnitus didn't seem so loud.
Only later did Shi Yunqi learn that
the man's name was Shen Fuyan, a tattoo artist who couldn't hear.
His left ear was almost completely deaf, and the tinnitus in his right ear had the same frequency as Shi Yunqi's.
Two people the world had put on mute found each other's frequency on a street in the early hours of the morning.
