Rivals-to-lovers, maximum size difference, and a straight man of Schrödinger’s
Only son of an old-money family x international student
190 cm, scheming, refined old-money heir x flirty, poker-faced, adorable academic ace who doesn’t mean to lead anyone on
Tao Le wasn’t the quiet Chinese academic stereotype. Thanks to his social skills and remarkable maturity for his age, he was extraordinarily popular at school.
On a whim, he signed up for the student council election just to test the waters, but ended up winning the most votes that year and becoming the first Asian student body president.
Tao Le was stunned, and walked away with a $50,000 stipend, along with the attention of another candidate...
Charles Cabot, a refined young gentleman from New York’s Upper East Side, had always been the center of attention in his social circle, right at home among its glittering crowds.
Even though Tao Le’s looks and personality were exactly his type, Charles wasn’t willing to settle for vice president and take second place.
They were constantly at odds in words and in everything they did.
So much so that everyone knew the presidents didn’t get along, and their supporters had split into rival camps.
At the mixer party, Charles was surrounded by people. He was still broad-shouldered, long-legged, and strikingly handsome, with a hint of roguishness in his smile.
Tao Le was tipsy, and people kept coming over to chat with him.
Out of the corner of his eye, Charles saw him surrounded by people, his eyes seeming to sparkle with stars, a smile on his face Charles had never seen before. Charles nearly ground his teeth to dust.
That night, the party was a blur of neon lights and intoxicating flirtation.
Someone somehow dumped them in a guest room. With the alcohol going to his head, Tao Le leaned against Charles’s lips as Charles gently brushed his reddened eyes. “Hmph, you’re drunk after only a few drinks?”
“Such a small appetite. Can you even handle any more?”
A night of unrestrained passion.
When he woke up, Tao Le stared at the mess scattered across the floor and wished he could strangle the person sleeping beside him.
Charles slowly opened his eyes, his blue gaze still lazy with satisfaction. He raised an eyebrow. “What, have you fallen for me?”
Tao Le gritted his teeth. “Get lost.”
Their relationship got even worse. Tao Le even stripped the vice president of his authority, and everyone around them said they had definitely gotten into a fight in that guest room.
Charles was nonchalant. “Just a little trick.”
Before long, the empty bed in the room next to Tao Le’s had a new occupant.
Charles strolled in, as casually as if he were taking a tour of his own garden.
Tao Le: Damn it, you did that on purpose, didn’t you!
